A soccer game had gotten a little rough. There was a harder push then necessary to get a ball, a retaliation foul was committed by the other child who was pushed. The child fouled was injured hard enough that he didn’t want to continue and in his vulnerability he called for me to come and help him. As I carried him to a bench to assess the injury he said crying, “I want to hurt him so bad but I know I can’t any longer because the lesson we just did and Jesus doesn’t want that.” I looked him in the eyes and told him how proud I was of him, that he was allowing himself to grow spiritually. He took 5 minutes, stretched the leg, came out on the black top and began playing again without incident. Praise Jesus! Give all the glory to God and the work of the Holy Spirit! A miracle was evident, in that, children who are so quick to violence are choosing to be disciples of Jesus. It’s these moments that I want to hold onto and cherish as we continue to present Jesus and His gospel. To hear more stories like this and more:
