I was born in Romania just prior to the end of Ceausescu’s communist devastation. My parents left Romania for the United States in 1986 when I was a one year old. We would visit Romania frequently, so that we would not forget or abandon the country we emigrated from and Romanian culture was preserved in our home in the U.S.
In the many visits to Romania, I witnessed over and over the devastation of generations under communist influence and how the people lost sight of what a relationship with Jesus is like. This blindness about their Savior has continued to hurt the Romanian people, as it affects their societal, spiritual, economical and familial relationships. The most obvious relational tears are shown in the country by the unrelenting social discrimination towards the Gypsy (Roma) community and the hundreds of thousands of abandoned and orphaned children, both Romanian and Roma, that sit in overwhelmed and underfunded state institutions.
After witnessing the discrimination, injustice, and abandonment of people in Romania my heart was stirred and burdened. The greatest disappointment so far has been that the hope of Jesus is focused in city centers while the poorest villages and communities have limited access to the Gospel message and discipleship. This limited access to the Gospel only asserts the worthlessness, hopelessness, and helplessness that they are taught.
It has become a burden in my heart to reveal the hope that Jesus provides, while establishing in them the truth that Jesus provides them a richness, that they can have confidence in their identity in Him, and there is healing among each other when we are reconciled with God through Jesus Christ.
God has poured on my family overly abundant blessings as we continue to seek the power of the Lord’s guidance for my family’s purpose in Romania. We have decided to be obedient to God’s call by committing our time and resources to be used by God in his redemptive work among the youth of Romania, establishing a long lasting knowledge of the Word of God, equipping the youth to be the change in their community, encouraging them through Godly loving relationship, and impacting their hearts for Jesus through discipleship for His glory alone.
My family is committed to raising up disciples of Jesus Christ and leaders for Romania among the youth, in gypsy and romanian communities, orphanages, and anywhere else God leads us to, But we can’t do it alone and we need your help prayerfully and financially.
It would be a great honor, if you will consider supporting our mission with your prayers and resources. It is a huge confirmation to know that you hear our heart for missions and desire to support us with the most powerful weapon..PRAYER!
